Science Hill Independent receives $4,700 GRANT

Lowe’s Donates Money for Welcome Center

Science Hill Independent has received a $4,700 Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant for enhancing the office complex and Welcome Center.

Science Hill Independent School was awarded the Lowe’s Tool Box For Education grant in May of 2018.  The grant was used to enhance the office complex at the school making it a more inviting Welcome Center for the parents and community when they enter the school.  Updates to the area include new carpet, trim, paint, rugs and furniture.

“Our school and community will greatly benefit from this grant. We wish to thank our friends at Lowe’s for generously supporting this important project,” said Mr. Dyehouse.

All K-12 public schools in the United States are eligible for the Toolbox for Education program.  More information is available at

Science Hill is proud to be a smoke-free campus!!
A 100 percent tobacco-free school policy reflects a firm commitment by school administration, teachers and parents to provide students, personnel, and community members a safe, tobacco-free  environment. Tobacco-free schools (including alternate nicotine products and vapor products) give adults the opportunity to be role models for tobacco-free lifestyles and set the tone for reduced social acceptance of tobacco use. In addition, studies show that students in tobacco-free schools are less likely to start smoking. More resources:
